Maggie was positive and engaging and the subject matter was interesting. Maggie gave hints and tricks that i found really helpful. A basic drawing ability is probably advantagous to get the most of this class, I think.

It was really an enjoyable day. The teacher, Maggie, was dreadfully sweet and took her time to explain to the "ahem" more gormless of us how to draw and achieve a goal. Lovely spot at the Uni too.

I discovered a love of drawing in 2025, after medically retiring from the workforce. I would spend all day drawing, for days on end. It gave me a purpose. Learning to draw has been very rewarding, and has connected me with a wonderful community of artists. I particularly love drawing portraits, and am sometimes inspired to draw the star from a movie I just watched! I drew this portrait of Margot Robbie after watching (half of) ?A Big Bold Beautiful Journey?. (I lost interest in the movie, but

I loved this photograph from John Strachan photography and finally got around to painting it in acrylic. I tried to be quite loose with the painting as there was so much detail. in the end I thought the sky looked a bit bare so with the help of Chat GPT I added seagulls to the photo and was then able to paint them into my art work. This painting will be heading for the Aberdeen art show the end of August for sale.
